Awareness walk a success! (videos)

May 10, 2017

The first annual "Fairfield County Walks for Mental Health" was a big success! About 150 people participated, to the honks and cheers of passing cars. Walkers started on the Norwalk Town Green and finished back at St. Paul's on the Green, where many visited the beautiful labyrinth as a wonderful meditative way to end the day.

In these videos, hear remarks by Congressman Jim Himes, Representatives Terrie Wood, Jonathan Steinberg & Cristin McCarthy-Vahey, as well as the governor's proclamation, read by Senator Bob Duff

Many thanks also to Senator Toni Boucher, Representatives Bruce Morris, Chris Perone, & Fred Wilms, and Lucia Rilling (on behalf of Mayor Harry Rilling) for their participation!

A huge shoutout to Walk Chairperson Liz McDermott as well as our fantastic planning committee, representing Communities 4 Action, Keystone House, Mid-Fairfield Child Guidance, Mid-Fairfield Substance Abuse Coalition (a program of Human Services Council), NAMI Southwest, Positive Directions, RIPPLE, Silver Hill Hospital, and Southwest Regional Mental Health Board.

See you next year!
