Coping with Corona: Disaster Distress Helpline, "Talk It Out" for caregivers & Summary of Supports

The national Disaster Distress Helpline is getting up to 600 calls a day. The DDH is a free 24/7 hotline to support people struggling emotionally as the result of natural or human-made catastrophes. 

 

 

Call or text the DDH (English or Spanish) 24/7 for free crisis counseling from folks with expertise in disaster behavioral health. SAMHSA and CDC are trying to get the word out about this resource. Please share the info! (Brochure here.)

 

In CT, we're lucky to have a number of state hotlines available, as well as peer-run warmlines such as Soundview Warmline and the JoinRiseBe Young Adult Warmline. The newest hotline is "Talk It Out," a helpline for parents & other caregivers, available in English & Spanish, 8am-8pm Monday through Friday and 8am-1pm Saturdays:
