Did You Know...?

  • For every death by suicide, there is an average of 135 lives who are impacted by the death. 

  • Up to 40% of patients seeking treatment for substance abuse dependence report a history of suicide attempt(s)

  • In 2020, 11 percent of adults (ages 18 and older) reported suicide ideation in the past month. 

  • Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in Connecticut and the  2nd leading cause of death for ages 10-34

  • Highest risk demographics include young adults, ages 18 to 25 (26 percent) and essential workers (22 percent)
