Catchment Area Council (CAC) Coordinator
Job Description:
CAC’s fall under the Regional Behavioral Health Action Organizations – a State of CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) funded program. This RBHAO serves DMHAS’ Region 1 (14 towns in Fairfield County.) The CAC Coordinator promotes the voice of lived experience, supports outreach to new members, and provides leadership, coordination and follow-up to CAC meetings and initiatives.
Duties and responsibilities:

Coordinate and/or attend various quarterly meetings of 2 Catchment Area Councils – Stamford and Bridgeport

Coordinate CAC subcommittees when needed

Work with other staff to prepare strategic planning reports, Epi Profile report, mental health and substance misuse priority reports, as required under the RBHAO Grant

Maintain communications with CAC members, including sharing legislative updates and documents / resources of interest via email and HubCT social media

Outreach to potential CAC members

Attend regular CHIP meetings

Serve as The Hub’s liaison to state advocacy efforts, including attending the monthly Keep The Promise Coalition meetings and other statewide advocacy groups

Work in collaboration with other Hub staff and identified community partners to plan and organize 2 regional legislative forums

Assist in responding to community requests for information or resources

Collaborate with other Hub staff on initiatives and data gathering

Participate in weekly coordination meeting of Hub staff
Education and Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in health-related discipline, with 3 years prior experience in coalition and legislative advocacy

Lived experience with mental illness and/or substance use prioritized. Training and certification as RSS or Recovery Coach strongly preferred.

Excellent organizational, writing and research skills

Competent in basic office technologies, Google Suite, PowerPoint, and social media

Spanish speaker preferred
Job Classification:

Part-Time from October 2020 through June 2021, 5 hours to max of 10 hours per week

Travel will be reimbursed.

Evening and weekend hours may be required at times in this position
