Recognize National Prevention Week!

May 13, 2019

National Prevention Week (NPW) is finally here!

National Prevention Week is an annual health observance dedicated to increasing public awareness of, and action around, substance abuse and mental health issues.  PLEASE share with your coalition / communities.

Today's theme is Prevention of Prescription Opioid and Drug Misuse. This week I ask of you to either send out an email and/or social media post highlighting the themes of each day (or you can share our post)!

If you are having an event this week that relates to one of the topics, be sure to Hashtag #CTPreventionWeek and/or tag DMHAS, SAMHSA and The Hub in your post (This is the perfect opportunity to connect on FB!)

You will find on DMHAS' website statewide events throughout the whole week.

Please visit our website  to find Region 1's events for this week and the rest of the month.
